How To Dry A Wet Leather Wallet?

If you've managed to get your wallet wet, dont worry - its not ruinned.

The first step in saving your leather wallet is removing any moisture. Use a soft cloth to dry it. If possible, wrap it in paper to prevent damage to the leather. If this isn't possible, use a desiccant pack. Also, keep it out of any pockets with buttons or zippers. Refrain from over-stuffing it because this could cause the grain to stretch and crack once dry.

After cleaning your leather wallet, please leave it in a cool, dry place for several days. You can either hang it on a clothesline or set it flat to dry. If you hang it up to dry, keep the wallet closed. It may take up to 48 hours to dry completely. Dry in shade not full sun - but somewhere warm. It will help evaporate any water that's left on it. However, you should check it frequently so it stays cool. If it's too hot, you'll need to move it to a cooler location.

You can gently use a cloth to wipe away excess water to dry a leather wallet. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer. However, hair dryers can overdry leather and cause it to crack and shrink. Stuffing the pockets with paper can help the wallet maintain its shape. Please don't hang your purse, as this can cause the material to sag and cause the wallet to lose its form.

Once dry, you'll need to condition it. Try using Anvil Hides incredible all natural Charm Balm

Another way to clean a leather wallet is to use neatsfoot oil. This preservative oil is an effective cleaning solution for leather. Apply it using a lint-free cloth. After rubbing the wallet with the oil, remove any excess residue using a fresh towel. This process will help speed up the drying process. dont go crazy with the oil, just a little.

Genuine leather wallets have natural water resistance. The outer layer of the animal's skin is the most resilient and durable. However, this doesn't mean you should let your wallet get wet! If you drop your purse or wallet while swimming, you'll want to ensure it dries quickly. This way, you won't need to worry about the leather wrinkling or rotting. The next step is to avoid overstuffing your leather wallet. Stuffing the wallet is bad for the material and will make the wallet look bulky and unkempt, stretching the leather. Instead of storing your business cards and receipts in the wallet, best to keep them in a seperate cardholder or pocket.
