This Oak Bark leather belt is handmade in Sydney, Australia using leather tanned purely in Oak Bark, from the J.&F.J. Baker tannery in Britain. This specialist tannery is the only remaining traditional oak bark tannery in Britain.
At 32mm wide this belt is the perfect width for everyday or formal occasions, paired with an antique solid brass buckle and keeper - We believe that this belt is one of the finest belts available in Australia.
This is a waxy leather (which is buffed into the belt before its sent out) with an unmistakable aroma of oak.
Very durable and has traditionally been used for saddles and harness in the upmarket UK Equestrian trade.

J & F J Baker have been Oak Bark tanning since 1862 at a tannery that dates back to Roman times. Generations of knowledge have perfected our process to produce beautiful, hardwearing and unique leather with superior tensile strength. Using all natural, locally, and sustainably sourced materials each piece of leather takes over a year to produce and many hours of labour intensive work.
Please note that these leathers are all hand dyed on the top side of the leather (not dyed in large drums as typical) - as a result, there may be dye marks on the flesh side (inside) of the belt. This is not seen as a defect and serves to accentuate the nature of the completely handmade process of this leather.

Sizing
CM indicated is to the centre hole of 7 holes. Holes are 2.5cm apart (1 inch), that gives you 3 inches to go up or down before you run out of holes.
*if buying as a gift and an old belt is unavailable, belt sizes are true to pants size NOT ACTUAL INCHES (pants inches are not the same as true inches), if they're a 32" waisted pant , select a 32" belt.
