Inspired by the film series "John Wick", the all black 'Lights out' belt is one for those who dont mind getting a little dark.
As Henry Ford once famously said "You can have any colour as long as it's black".
The belt features a black PVD coating over solid brass buckle and some thick black vegetable tanned full-grain bridle leather (Thomas Ware and Sons tannery Bristol UK) in 38mm width, handmade in Sydney Australia.
PVD which stands for "Physical Vapor Deposition" is a highly accurate plating process carried out in high vacuum environments at high temperatures. It produces really durable finish to prevent scratching.
Typically, black hardware that is found in the marketplace is not PVD, and is generally considered a black spray paint causing it to chip and scratch off quickly. PVD plating is the process used to plate high end watches for a durable finish.

Sizing
CM indicated is to the centre hole of 7 holes. Holes are 2.5cm apart (1 inch), that gives you 3 inches to go up or down before you run out of holes.
*if buying as a gift and an old belt is unavailable, belt sizes are true to pants size NOT ACTUAL INCHES (pants inches are not the same as true inches), if they're a 32" waisted pant , select a 32" belt.

I've been wearing my Anvil Hide Lights Out Black belt every single day since it arrived in November last year, and I can genuinely say it's by far the best belt I've ever owned.
It's soft, durable, looks bloody great, and is extremely comfortable. More importantly, it handles the day to day abuse I put it through without showing any real signs of damage or wear.
I also picked up the Anvil Hide Charm Balm at the same time. Despite me being absolutely hopeless at remembering to apply it as often as I probably should, the belt still looks amazing.
After wearing it daily for around nine months now, I'm genuinely impressed with how well it's held up. It's one of those products where you can tell it's been made properly, and I'd happily buy another one without hesitation. (and just quietly, An AI didn't write this review haha, I'm genuinely bloody impressed with the quality of this belt, it's awesome).
The quality is obvious as soon as you open the box (even the packaging is classy).
I was tossing up between this one and the everyday belt with silver (SS) buckle.
Went with the black buckle for something a little bit different. Looks good enough to wear with my "good pants", and rugged enough to wear with work pants or jeans.
Was planning on getting one with the silver buckle next, but now I'm not sure if I'll need another belt.
This feels like it will outlast me.

Absolutely gorgeous belt. My husband was sick of store-bought belts looking tattered after only a few wears, so thought I'd spend the money on Anvil Hide. My husband has been wearing the belt almost every day since Christmas and it looks brand new still. The belt looks great on and is comfortable to wear (according to my husband). I actually have 2x40 inch belts that I bought approximately 10 months prior to getting the 38 inch I've lost some weight and the belt is perfect better than any shop bought belts that I've purchased and used for years that only lasted months, the waŵnvil hŵwide leather belts that I've purchased are still in great condition

This is my second belt from these guys and they don't disappoint. Lights out belt is well constructed and designed with a stealthy look. If you walk around with office slacks all day your goin to be proud but when it come to jeans I do prefer the indestructible belt rang for the fact they fill the belt loops better being wider and bulky. This is very good for every day purposes and do recommend this belt
I absolutely love this belt, ordered a man’s belt , because I wanted a wide belt for myself, the all black buckle and belt is what I wanted for a while, but was nervous that it would be too big, I like to wear my shorts lower on my waist, but wanted to be able to wear it on my waist for jeans. I watched their sizing video multiple times as I couldn’t decide what size belt to order to cover both of my requirements. I asked Aaron to add an extra hole on the inner side to enable me to do this. Absolutely perfect. i searched the internet for a real hide belt in Australia. I watched the video of the Anvil belts being made out of the hide. That was what sold me,
This was a last minute ask from Aaron, and he went right out of his way to make it happen for me as I needed a awesome belt for my sons wedding in Adelaide, and I was in Kalgoorlie. He shipped it there so fast and the quality was 2nd to none and a perfect fit, and love the black buckle.

The photo attached is my new Anvil belt next to my old belt from Meyers. The Meyer's one is nice but looking at the one from these legends it's no comparison. The new one feels indestructible, like they have used the skin of some mythological creature and forged it in the fires of Mt Doom where as the other is just regular ol' "cow" leather...
The Lights out belt rocks, the PVD coating is sublime feels great and looks terrific - when it has to be black this is the belt - great craftsmanship Aaron as usual this is belt number 4 for me Thanks!!!
Great quality and the fit is awesome. The only thing that I would change is the position of the Anvil Hide logo as it’s hidden once you put the belt into its buckle. I recon it should be on the tail as then it would be seen.

From the reviews and pics I knew I'd love this belt but it's even better in the flesh. Thicker than I thought, you can see and feel the care put into it and the quality of the leather and hardware.
