The extra width is better as you have the same working level, the extra thickness of 4mm provides a softer surface, very pleased with the product, excellent thanks.

Great product and service as usual. I'm using mine as a work surface for hobbies to protect the mango wood table in my man cave.
Absolutely loving the Xlarge desk mat. It protects my very aged and precious red cedar table perfectly while giving me a good writing surface. The embilossing adds a nice little personalisation to it.
I have previously purchased belts from Anvil Hide & was & am very impressed with the quality, can easily declare them to be the best belts I have ever purchased & I’m 65. I decided, based on the quality of the belts, to purchase the leather desk mat, it also lives up to the quality of previous purchases. Keep up the good work, it is a pleasure buying top quality product from an Australian owned family business. Cheers Rick
Quality, comfy and cute! Just what I was hoping for. I ordered the large size in black after a long online search and am very happy :)
Love my desk mat and mouse pad. Stops the computer slipping on my desk. As with all of Aaron’s products excellent quality and highly recommended. My 4th product purchased
Beautiful desk Matt, I love the leather, beautifully done. I will order again for sure!
Super easy purchasing experience and timely delivery. The desk mat, mouse pad, and coasters are all excellent quality and a pleasure to use. They could be another 1mm thicker but it's not a major issue. Definitely adds some class to the office and makes desk work more enjoyable.
I am loving my desk mat! I bought the large desk mat in Tan after I had done a lot of research but I kept coming back to this. The other brands were either overpriced, or not real leather and it feels good supporting a small family business. Highly recommend.
Just love my mat and the leather is so soft.... No complaints here, would recommend Anvil Leather products...
I bought this to use with my metal credenza. It is the perfect size! Simple and unassuming just the way I like it. It arrived packaged well with that lovely leather smell! Highly recommended! #shoplocal
Love my new desk mat and the mouse works perfectly on it as well! Very happy thanks
Very happy with my leather desk pad looks great and beautiful to write on
I've tried many desk mats in the past and finally I've found one that looks great, feels great and is the right size. This is a quality product 10/10 (XL Black) with matching coasters
Great desk pad & mouse pad! Beautiful leather.
Only received mat last week, but I'm really liking it. Now has pride of place on my new bamboo desk... I'm already a devoted Anvil Hide customer, as I have previously purchased two of the belts... BTW, Apologies for ordinary picture :-)
Recently purchased a desk mat, mouse pad & belt. all came promptly, perfectly packaged, and with a little gift of leather balm. Love it, well done Aaron and team Anvil Hide.
I recently purchased the large black leather desk mat from Anvil Hide. It is a quality product and locally made. Have no hesitation in recommending this product.
Beautifully created leather desk mat. I ordered the large to accommodate my large laptop and mouse, which it does comfortably. I chose Tan, but it's definitely more "brown". But overall, a really lovely product.
Bought as part of Xmas presents for my wife to be included in setting up her home office. She's delighted with it!
Excellent communication and speedy service from a fantastic Australian company. I'd ordered in the hope of receiving the desk mat prior to Christmas and was not disappointed. Custom made and under our Christmas tree within days of placing my weekend order! Sensational service and a quality product. Happy customer here! Many thanks. Deb
Quick order turn around and the leather is beautiful to work on. Love it!
Absoloutly ecstatic with my purchase. Quality is great, its a good size. And to top it off I got a personalised thankyou note. It might sound silly, but I felt very happy with my choice to support Aussie small business' because of that!
Looks great - good quality
These are the most beautifully hand crafted leather desk pads, they add so much to your work space and make it a pleasure to do work on! Great thickness & feel and are exceptional quality. The communication and service from Aaron was excellent, but most of all, it is great to support such an incredible Aussie Made business!
Love to buy Australian. Now i have the perfect platform to change straps on my Australian watches. This superb leather mat keeps the watches from getting scuffed and will be hard wearing into the future.
Top quality, super fast postage and great service!
My desk wouldn't be complete without my desk mat, I have the large and it's the perfect size. I have quite a few Anvilhide products now and they've all been great and Aaron has been a joy to deal with. If you're still undecided about whether or not to make the leap and get this (or any other product on the site) let me save you the indecision and tell you you won't regret it!
Couldn't be happier with this product. I have been looking for a quality leather desk pad for a while and I'm glad that I discovered a small Australian business to support that produce great quality products that you know will last. The character and texture on the surface of this pad really makes in a joy to work on and it give you that sense of personalization. The matching coasters is also a nice addition to the desk to tie everything together. I would highly recommend this product and can't wait to get my hands on more Anvil Hide products. Thanks Aaron.
Really happy with the quality and feel of the desk matt - the colour and texture is really premium - my only suggestion would be to make it even wider to accomodate more space to use the mouse whilst leaving it centred on the desk. Otherwise really happy with it.
I’m overjoyed with this mat! Looks and feels absolutely fantastic. I’ve already shared the website with my peers so they can get one too!
Thanks Aaron i now have the perfect platform my hobby. Can now change watch straps on a surface cause any scrathes. Maybe one day Anvil Hide will make watch straps. Jason
Desk matt looks great with my set up, and i love the texture from the leather!
Fantastic addition to my desk at home! The thickness, size and quality makes it a pleasure to touch each time. In addition it is completely functional! Just brilliant like all of Anvil Hide’s products!
Fantastic quality desk mat - makes WFH that little bit less grim... Aaron was a pleasure to deal with and the mat came very fast. The dimentions of the large mat are just perfect - I was hunting for a leather desk mat for quite some time and they were often too skinny or square - this one is just right in my opinion. The coasters finish the look off nicely. The tan colour is a browner tan rather than an orange tan for those after a certain colour scheme. Thanks Aaron for the fine work.
Superb quality and aesthetic appeal. That smell! Amazing. Looking forward to getting more Anvil Hide products.
Really nice quality.
Its naturalness and beauty
Beautiful and just lovely to have the desk
Super beautiful - totally lifts my whole desk and makes it a place I love working at.
